MTAB

At our May board meeting, MTAB finalized its planned events and schedule for the coming year. Our general meetings, which take place three times per year, will be in person in September and March. Our final meeting in May will be virtual this year. At our first meeting in September, we will feature performances from two members–Sarah Young and Liuba Pupo Ortega, and from Mary Ann Shoemaker. Our March meeting includes a recital of winners from our Mirabella Competition. This year, Mirabella will feature composers from Post-Soviet countries. Our final meeting in May will be virtual. Typically, we reserve this meeting for High School Seniors to perform their pieces they will enter in the Senior Awards event, but as of now, there are no rising seniors in MTAB.

Our other events for the year are our annual Autumn Harvest Musicale, a lovely event with usually 3 or 4 recitals featuring students playing a variety of pieces and often performing in costume. This is a great event for younger students! Our December Ensemble festival continues again this year, with many students playing holiday-themed pieces.

As always, we will have 2 luncheons–one in January (after the busy holdiays!) and one at the end of April (before the busy month of May!).
